First things first, you will be required to fill in a tenant reference check, the document must be returned to DWP Housing with a £20 fee.  Please note at this stage we cannot hold a property for you.

To consider:

  • £20 reference fee is non-refundable, however your reference check will be current for 6 months.
  • If you are under 25 or have no previous renting history you will need a guarantor. To find out what it means to be a guarantor or why you may need one, please read our information sheet

If you have already found a property you would like to rent from us and your reference check has been approved, you will need to come in the office to fill in an application form and place a non-refundable £250 deposit to reserve the property (the holding deposit will be taken off the final deposit upon moving in) At this stage you will need to provide a government approved photo ID, your National Insurance number and proof of income.

Once all of the above is sorted you will come in the office to sign your tenancy agreement, and pay your first month rent, deposit and admin fee.

What do our tenants have to say about us.

  • When we had nowhere to go and no chance of succeeding anywhere, DWP took us in. Ever since day one they have been fantastic. The guys on the desks at the front are amazing and have always been so approachable. Not once had a problem in our dealings with them. We appreciate all the help and if you are after a property they look after you. Thank you to the team!

    Laine Grew | Boscombe

  • I can’t say anything but good things about this landlord. Even when stuff was difficult they gave me a chance…thanks Mike, Sally and the team. Even when I got into serious rent arrears you were able to help sort a payment plan. So much so I left with my full deposit which shocked us all. Keep doing good stuff and thanks for the chance.

  • After hearing so many bad reports about DWP I was very hesitant with going with yourselves. Everything I had heard was unfounded. Bex and Jo really looked after me well and are a real asset to DWP. All I wanted was to be treated how I like to be treated and I was. I am very happy!!

    Deborah | Boscombe

  • Really good – After the ID referencing, we had 5 days to find a property and move in – Colt, Holly and Andrea have all been extremely helpful, understanding, polite and professional. Really appreciate the effort put in, thank you.

  • Just to Holla a message of my thanks for the recent refurb of the shared bathroom at my place in Borthwick Rd, Boscombe….Speaking as a high-end painter n decorator myself, its good to see all concerned delivering a very professional finish. My thanks to the lads who done it and to DWP for investing into the well being and comfort of your tenants. This for me is where the ‘social housing’ end of the market meets the posher end and bridges important gaps.
